Well its been a while since i last published a wallpaper, life has ended up quite busy for me and photoshop ended more and more on the side unfortunately since its a hobby. Anyway recently (last week) i felt like rewatching Mai-HiME and My-Otome series, since its been quite a long time since i originally seen the series (2007-2008), i remembered quite a bit from Mai-HiME but not really much from My-Otome except i was a bit dissapointed back then with it. Well not this time around, it ended up as one of my most favorite animes, in fact i loved it so much it made me this past week after coming home from work to dedicate my remaining time to creating this wallpaper centered around Arika's Zwei form. The reason i made this was because:
1. i couldn't find a wallpaper to my tastes in her Zwei form.
2. She became one of my favorite anime lead characters and really inspired me into doing this piece, usually when
wanting to create a wallpaper while coming up with making render ain't a problem, deciding on the background takes
quite a while, with this i knew from the moment i started what i wanted and i think i did a decent job.
As for the work, except for the writing which uses PS fonts, its all done using vectoring techniques in photoshop. Compared to some of my other works the style is a bit more loose and less detailed, but that's because i wanted to keep to an extent the feel of the art of the anime and personally i'm pleased with the results.
While i did do this wallpaper mainly with my res in mind i tried to accomodate other screen types as much as possible, i hope it will be satisfactory. The wallpaper also contains three variants:
1. The original Arika Zwei form look (which can also be seen in the preview).
2. A no cape version, which makes Arika's form more similar with her mom's from the ova, personally i prefer
this one.
3. No cape and no "antenna", there's people who don't like that part of Ahegao verry much (i know
one that doesn't) so i gave a version with that in mind as well.
Also the screen types this wallpaper supports are as follow:
16:10 (1920x1200)
16:9 (1920x1080)
4:3 (1600x1200)
5:4 (1280x1024)
