Well finally after long hours my first wallpaper sees the light :D Before this I couldn't do anything with photoshop, so I had to learn everything :D I think I worked at least 50 hours on this wall, maybe more. The PSD was 50 MB, 35 layers. Actually I felt like something was missing yet but in the end I decided to post because I'm a perfectionist and I will never be happy anyway.

The concept is this: there has been a terrible storm but that girl is chasing the storm away by dancing on the water, hence the title of the wall :D
After many tries, I decided to make the wallpaper fairly simple, since in the beginning I added too many elements and it felt cluttered.

The image was extracted from this great scan http://gallery.minitokyo.net/view/19946/ though the extraction was really painful @.@

Now on to a most important section...

I must thank all the persons who were kind and patient enough to give me tips, show me how to do things etc. There are too many to remember.. but the ones I bugged the MOST were, in sparse order, Nuriko, Tama-Neko, Sammo, Shinta, Limality, Yumi-chan, Semanga, Dustin,Katzbalger, jackalx66. I know I have forgotten somebody.. sorry for that.

Well that's it. This is my first wallpaper ever so please comment it. I really need any comment you may write :D

m... one part that I might have to add on. You did a very fantastic job for your first wallie and I do have to commend you for that ^^

Anyhou, try to make the thunders from the cloud look a lot more cooler and more realistic. Other than that, you should make a few other touch-ups. But don't matter, much better than I expected. Wonderful job! **Thumbs up**

Finally got here after some extensive computer and net lagging -.-'

Firstly, this is a good wall~ I just didn't tell you I've seen this before >_>
i remember the first thing I ever made... was a joke XD
Uhm what happened was that I was taking a multimedia course at school... I kinda switched subjects half way through the year so I missed out on the first term or two and that was teaching the other peeps how to use Photoshop... and so I missed all that... but I aced Macromedia after that :D Not that that is of any relevance... I'll try to get to the point ^_^'
i only wanted to make wallpapers when I saw a picture my friend had... she downloaded some wallpaper somewhere and she mentioned something about the person going crazy with brushes... and so I remembered that... but my first wall was like... >_> Using the eraser and blurring tool to extract... and I used human scans... so it was like... small guy... slap... big guy in the back... lens flare and liquify. roflmao.. it was a disaster... Everyone was like ">_> That's uhm... great!" And so I knew I sucked (._.) I was only forced to improve when I joined Mt XP

So the point is, it's a good wallpaper *it took me a while, but I get there... eventually...*

At first when I looked at it it looked like the sky was really plain... and then I looked at it and there were stars everywhere... I can't do stars *___* And the starfield was done really well... as is the lighting ^_^ The lighting is done really well... and so are the sparkles... they're placed nicely :) The water ? *thumbs up*

I haven't read the second page of your comments because my net is really slow *kills my isp* but I don't know if anyone has actually bothered to mention the colours you used... I was reading and saw most of the things were targeted at realism and the lightning... I don't think there's anything wrong with what you've done... everything is technically good. It's probably just a thing I do, I would eyedrop colours on the girl's dress and use those colours for the sky... give or take some saturation or brightness. I think this might have looked really mad if the clouds were of a blueish purple hue and the nightsky with hints of purple, blue, and even a bit of red. Fuschia at 50% would look pretty cool too. Another thing I think that could have improved is the scan itself... and it's not extraction, your extraction is excellent- all I think is another layer on a blending mode like soft light or overlay at some lowered transparency would have really brought the colours to life and made it really vibrant :nya: And the moon's reflection perhaps more at 40% or 30%... It's a bit solid :)

That's probably what I would have done... but this is good >_>
*digs out her oldest walls and deletes them off the face of the planet*
^_^' Can't wait to see your next work... if you make something o.o
*hides all the notifs for reports and makes you go on photoshop* XD

That's a great first wallpaper. I wish I could do that. Just wondering, is she wearing any pants? I see a rear and I just hope there's something covering the front besides that skirt
