Artist Comment
Inspired by the Anime-series & the comparison bewteen Tatianas Vanship and the Red Baron (Orig. Der Rote Baron - Manfred von Richthoven), I've created that one including the Eiserne Kreuz (Iron Cross). I mainly used red colors but I washed them out so that it gets an "older look". The red&white flag together with the black color symolizes the German nation of the time of WW1 that was the main inspiration for the makers of the series.

I love the concept you implemented here in this wallpaper and it's a fitting tribute and dedication to both Tatiana and the legendary Baron Von Richthofen.
It is interesting to note as well that one of the flying manoeuvres featured in Last Exile - the "Immelmann Turn" - actually exists in real life. First orchestrated by fellow German World War I flying ace Max Immelmann, it is a popular evasive dogfight manoeuvre that is still used and even improved to this very day.
