Even with your claim of a "bad scan", this is still an amazing piece! I wish I could turn out something this amazing in 10 days. The shading on the cloak is especially well done. You were really able to capture the textured appearance well. :)

It's been a while since I drew something using pencil and paper so I felt like doing this piece when I saw this scan. I enjoyed drawing the hair and smoke/mist. The background came out along the way..adding a bamboo here..and there...haha.
I scanned my completed drawing but it didn't turn out so good.. A little too bright and it couldn't catch the
lighter shades..
Done on A3 paper. About 10 days - a few hours each day.

Oh wow, this looks gorgeous. I mean, even done traditionally and scanned, it looks so pretty, I can only imagine what it would look like bigger and done digitally (winknudgenudge xD).

Consider this is a drawing, you really did a good job with the detail.. I can see how much is the effort that you put here, especially the mist and the bamboo, they give a very nice touching, awesome work.. I really love this :D

Oh wow! I'm always amazed by the ability of those who can get deepness, atmosphere, nuances and verisimilitude, in a drawing, by simply using a pencil. Great work!

I can see how this reached elite status ! in my opinion, I'd imagine coloring it would/could have taken away from the piece. I find the details and layers are quite remarkable, the details to the background alone is remarkable, well done !
