You can find duality anywhere, even in something as simple and serene as a koi pond.
Inspired by my grandmother's calendar, which had a fish constructed of 3 bold brush strokes - a thick curve for the
body, and two small dots for fins. These fish were made with a few more than 3 strokes, but the construction is the
same. The original fish I saw was in gold leaf, but the shape made me think of half of a yin-yan duality symbol, thus a
light and dark fish were necessary.
Art was painted in Illustrator (yes, using vectors - what else do you expect me to do?) and then imported to Photoshop
so textures could be added to give the feel of an old canvas painting.

Smooth... I'm a sucker for Koi fish. They're something about them that just makes me serene and happy. I like how the wall came out - the water ripples especially... if I could just change the lilypads. They seem a little small to me. And the flower seems a little square on the edges. I'm not complaining, really, just pointing out a few things. ^_^'
