Oh Em Gee, look I made a wall. After... *checks* more than half a year. Jinkies.
The manga was on my to-read list ever since chanelqueen made that awesome Apollo wall and a few weeks ago I finally read it and decided it would be nice to wall something since the art was so pretty. So, on a whim, I picked a scan of Ganymede that was super duper complicated (like everything else I do lately lol) and it shows I haven't walled in a long time. There are probably tons of mistakes and things to fix but I don't have the time for it anymore. And as much as Ganymede is pretty, right now I want to murder him. And his pearls and beads. And hair. And...lots of stuff on him.
Moving on. This was a challenge when it came to lighting and I'm still not sure I did it right. Since the poor guy is basically stuck in Zeus' garden for all eternity, with nothing but a temple, white flowers and perpetual starry sky to keep him company (and Apollo, too but he's just such a bully), it was hard to pin down the main source of light. Other than the stars and the whiteness of the flowers which isn't exactly that much so, heh.
The lines were vectored and the rest was painted. The temple was taken from a page in the manga and extended a bit. I still hate how it turned out. The flowers and stars were done by using a lot of various brushes I found on dA.
In the end, I added some crappy flying petals around him, played with some gradients, curves and random stuff here and
there and that was it. Took me about a week to finish this little bugger, lol.
And of course, I had trouble picking the title. A friend said the current one was so cliche but I didn't care - I
liked it, it fit the story and I was too tired to come up with something philosophical or pretty.

I knew the petals were just there for a touch of randomness >.<. Though I think the temple turned out really well. As always your vectors and paintings for wallpapers are always amazing. The fact that the character is a "dude" still makes me comeback and stare at him for a good few minutes. Makes me feel ashamed of being a girl if he's prettier LOL.

First thought, lovely female character in a garden of flowers...then checked the character and its a guy lol!
But anyway lovely vector especially the hair *___*
Maybe add some more petals that are closer perspective to the viewer if you know what I mean xD -

Alenas, you still have the ability to turn out the surprisingly good wall when you are inspired. This one is nice enough for a comment (my first to you since you were sharing over on AP). This is nice; thanks for sharing with me.

Amazing work on the character, I could see a lot of effort and labor invested on him. The details are extremely superb. I also like the single falling star on the background, fits perfectly with the title.
