Since it's my first time submitting here...
Just a short introduction:
I'm having wallpaper jitters...yet again.
I'm actually from AnimePaper.net. I was aware of MT, but I just didn't submit here because...I found AP first
and was more used to it there. That's all. Nothing against MT. Anyway, I had just decided to take a break from AP
and suddenly, BOOM! AP had closed down. Yeah I didn't see it coming. I'm not very active online...I just
don't socialize much, whether offline or online. And I didn't even know that I had an account at MT until I
tried to register a few days ago, and I got an error message telling me that "someone had already registered with
the same username and email" -.-'''
I wasn't great at AP. Neither was I outright bad. Maybe somewhere between "bad" and "average".
But I always forced myself to submit to AP to get myself to look at the great
wallpapers at AP (and now at MT), so that I may be acutely aware of my lack of aptitude. So I'm here. And I'm
feeling the jitters, just like any other wallpaper that I submitted to AP.
As I mentioned, I don't socialize much. It also means that I don't really reply to comments. I read, I take
note, but I don't reply because I don't know what to say. If I should reply, know that it was done with 10
minutes of fretting over the "post comment" button, editing the text repeatedly and wondering if it is
appropriate.
About this wallpaper:
If anyone should remember me from AP, it's that weirdo who posts long, long journal entries on wallpapers. And
I'm at it again. The full description is in my DA journal. The reference image
and the final result is here.
To summarise that 6 page long entry in my journal (I typed it in Microsoft Word first, so I know), this is my second
fully-painted wallpaper, after The Dreamers. A lot of stuff happened
after I found out that I could do a wallpaper without touching the vector tool. Old methods got messed up, I lost
interest in some WIPs, I changed the plans for other WIPs...and this wallpaper was supposed to be painting practice for
a future Shadow of the Colossus wallpaper...which may never materialize after all, as I'm in quite a quandary
now.
There are others who have used this same reference image as I, most notably Sioaoi from DA. I was almost tempted to stop
walling...almost. I guess I psycho-ed myself into thinking that I would be different (and hopefully better). I used a
hair brush from JonasDeRo's brush
pack to create the strand-y texture. I did the eagle by observing stock photography of real eagles. The wing still
looks twisted, but...well, I just left it.
A big improvement for me would be in painting the sky. Previously, I would have whacked a cloud brush. Now, I used the
default soft round brush with pen pressure, as well as help from a cloud tutorial by kayoru. I
certainly feel that it looks much better now!
The structure at the back looks weird, but that's because I was lazy in doing it =P Also, the feathers were painted
from my memories of chasing pigeons in my house when I was really young. Yes, cruel, evil me. The animal activists would
have my scalp for that. Thankfully I am now much wiser and a staunch animal lover. Anyway, the terrified pigeons would
lose lots of feathers, and I remember it vividly.
Finally, I couldn't resist and added in stars, with help from LadyVictoire's star field brushes. But not too much! I didn't
want a dreamy atmosphere.

Ok that's all...erm...anything else, you'll have to read the journal entry...
(Btw, I just converted my .png to a .jpeg using Paint. If there are quality issues, let me know and I'll re-upload)
