To get a scan in better resolution you can try to customize the scanning. There's always one or three options to scan in the program you use: the practical version 8preview and scan, selection or colors9 and at less other one where you select the dpp of your printer. If you increase that number, for example: 400 > 600 the scanning will delay more and the quality would be much better, including the size.
I don't know which printer you have or which program you use, but this options definitely exists! XDI took all the charas version anyway x). I really love it! Thanks to you for posting x).
