Okay, so as elisadevelon adviced me, I tried to crop the wall and do a close up of CHii! and it turned out quite.. well, better than the old versions :P So, I updated the close-up version as the original version and the old versions are avalaible in the alternative version! :D
(hopes it will show up soon ^^")
If it doesn't show up, please refresh using Ctrl+F5. Thank you ^^

Long time people! :D yeah I know, it's been a while since I posted something... I kinda feel a bit nostalgic about it ^.^"

Okay, so here I am with a new wallie! and this time it is... CHII! *.*

I came accross this amazing scan one day and I felt like "Hey! let's wall this! :D" but at that time, I was still in my "I hate walling" period ^^" and I still kinda dislike it.. why? who knows.. maybe out of laziness ^^"
So, it was a real challenge to convince myself to wall it :P and whoo! holidays came, I was AMAZINGLY bored so I began walling ;) it took me about... *ahem* 1 week (from 10 AM to 10 PM each day) to finish this... I know, I know, that's long like hell =.=" but I can't help it, I really lost my ability to use photoshop ^^" (seriously, I was disoriented the first day :O)
Soooooo! first, I vectored Chii. Personally, it was the WORST VECTOR I did until now! @.@" I think I'll never wall CLAMP again ^^" The hair, and those annoying pearls were the worst :O really, I've grown to HATE PEARLS! >.< raaaaaah! I finished it after 4 days of work.
then, as usual, I didn't know what to do as a background... so I went with a simple floor and stairs.
after that.. oh gosh I was really desperate.. I had to do the shading ^^" and look how crappy it turned out :P Please forgive my lack of talent. I really suck at lighting :S
I guess that's all! Hope you'll like this little wall of mine! ;) any feedback is always welcome! <3

alternative version : without pearls :D

Whoa, that was such a hard work, huh? CLAMP's scans are always sooooo full of details! I tried to vector one before, but I have to start all over again e.e

I think it's beautiful, really. You made a good job ^^

Wow, I can imagine how annyoing the pearls must have been. The vector of Chii turned out pretty good; it's smooth and detailed. Yet the pearls are disturbing. You put shadows on Chii but only used a gradient on the pearls. I would first make one pearl with a shadow and a shine on it and then copy it like crazy so that all of the pearls had shadows and lights on them. Another thing - Chii is the dominant element in the wall so you could have left her in the center like she was in the scan. Now you have an extremely detailed character on an extremely simple background and these two are clashing with one another.

    lol the pearls
the way you put Chii and drop shadow her made it look like she's just being stuck there instead of lying down on the floor. it mismatched the position you want
there are also some jagged parts, specially the stairs.
other than that, great job coz doing CLAMP's artwork is like a suicide sometimes xD

Good job with this piece! It's too bad you didn't get as much feedback after your changes.. I like the close up better.. this was a hard piece to vectorize.. I can only imagine how much time you spent on it! Very cool concept! ^^ .. I wonder if harsher outlines would help to further emphasize the shadows. It seems a bit on the "blander" side now, but I think a lot of people enjoy that style as well :] Job well done.
