I wanted for a long while to make a wallpaper with some kids sitting on a branch and watch the starry sky, but I didn't found an image that I imagined, so I found one on a day time, with Torotoro. I use adobe photoshop cs6 for this wallpaper. In 2 hours the wallpaper was done.

How did I turned a day time picture in one to looks like night? I created another layer that I filled with a deep blue color, then I changed it style's to multiply, and the opacity to 70%. This is the tutorial http://digicompdiy.wordpress.com/2011/11/07/making-day-photos-look-like-night-photos-using-photoshop I guided^^
Then I add the stars, and their reflections.

Well, I hope that you guys will like this wallpaper and also, you'll use for your desktops^^

Well, don't think about me bad, but doubt too many ppl will set as a desktop wallpaper in the outdated resolution of 1024x768, especially ones like me who have a 24" LED screen :P

Also instead the linking of the tutorial, would be preferable to link rather the sources which you used, in your case it would be

Maybe is my personal taste, but I would definitely prefer the daylight version, one logic is about, that children are rarely allowed outside on the night, is the overall problem with your walls, that you put known scenes into random backgrounds (like the bikini Miku outside in the space, lol)
And would be good to learn vectoring a bit, maybe then you would not stuck at such low resolutions, and could produce cleaner wallpapers in higher resolutions (after all Totoro has a super easy drawing style, so in this case would be ideal) Maybe then it would take 22 hours, instead 2 to produce it, but it would be better. Definitely.
