My entry for Match 14: Swords! on AP.

When I thought to a 'sword' themed wall I immediately wanted to do something with a samurai, and my chose ended on Goemon. I like this character, he's meditative, a man of few words but letal with his katana. In the anime he can cut everything with it, iron, too!

I tried to put the focus on him, smudging the closest part, i.e. his hand and sword, adding some thingies for give a bit a 'move' effect to katana. The result isn't what I wanted to get, but I changed it so much time that in the end I lost patience >.< and I stopped editing. Anyway, I hope you'll like it :)

Credits and sources:

Original japanese settei (thanks to Oasi delle anime)

CLAMP's illustrations (for the background): 1 - 2 - 3

Japanese text (on second revision) copied from 50 Popular Kanji (part 1)

Comments are always welcome :)

EDIT:

I added a textureless version and a paper texture version.

ps: full view is recommend ;)

you know I'm not really a fan of Lupin the 3rd but there was just something about this piece that brought me to comment on it. I rather like it to be honest, the detail to the samurai and to actually use Bushidou (Bushido for the others out there with alternate spelling) I find you did nicely. and to have put the translation of the kanji just perfects it. well played :)
