Love the colors and all those pretty textures and patterns you used around the background; they're interesting and stylish without being too aggressive or overwhelming. The vector is also very stylish and pretty. I just think the leaves look a bit out of place in such a scene but they're so nicely made it doesn't really matter that much, lol. Good job and good luck in the contest! xD
Artist Comment
OOOOOOOOH MY........ o.O e-e-l-l-ite g-g-aller-ry? TwT thanks so much x'D *pours tears of joy*
Finally I finished it ! \(TwT)/ I thought I would never finish it, I always saw mistakes in
it… :( and school was harsh lately (so I didn’t have much time to do this… sorry it’s the best I can do with
such conditions)
First, I have to say it’s my entry for ’s EXCHANGE SCANS CONTEST
PLEASE FULL VIEW (it should look a bit better ^^')
Now onto the conception… the rules said that we had to use scans that other members had chosen. Among the three scans I received, I chose this one :)
Spoiler (show)
--------------------------------------
FIRST STEP : Character
I vexelled the girl at the left bottom of the scan (I know, a vector should've looked
better but... forgive my laziness..)
Spoiler (show)
--------------------------------------
SECOND STEP : Background
okay, here, to be honest, I had ZERO ideas (T.T) so I just decided to follow the idea of
the original background of the scan xD after doing the sky and the odd sea, inspiration came! :D it looked like a traditional Japanese painting so I changed the sea
with the well-know “Great Wave off Kanagawa” by Hokusai x) (well, at least I tried) so, I picked some shots on
Google images and started vexelling the waves. Then, I was done (^///^) but then, it looked kinda too plain :/ so I
tried using patterns for the first time of my life! =^_^= it looked better :3
Patterns : (thanks to Raffa for promoting the site in the past contest ;D)
#1
#2
#3
#4
#5
then, I added a grungy texture x3 but it looked a bit… off.. x_x anyway, I left it as it
was :p
---------------------------------------
THIRD STEP : Revision
searching for little mistakes (but there were too many of them so I gave up... =.=).. then,
I adjusted the colors, brightness… and basta~ finished (/^.^)/
---------------------------------------
FOURTH STEP : Thinking of a
title
... so.. ^^' I suck at finding titles guys.. so I put a random one!
O___O'
---------------------------------------
Soft. PS CS5 Extended.
Time many weeks ^_^’
PSD size 160 Mb.
Layers ^^’ it’s better not to count
them :p
Alternative versions : without the leaves
and patternless :) and also, widescreen versions xD
---------------------------------------
well, that’s pretty much it ! :D hope you guys will like it :3 (cuz I don’t, it didn’t turn out like I wanted to T.T but at least it does reflect smthg so I posted it.. I can’t do better :/)
naturally, comments and criticism are most welcome ♥

Nice! Beautiful and tragic... it makes me feel like the storm is coming and there's no way to evade it. Love the momiji leaves.

REALLY AWESOMEE!
The art seems like samurai champloo and katanagatri mixed up(not a bad thing) and has a hawaii feeling to it, nice, cute and cool. -
