Hi everyone, This is my wallpaper based on Clover. For this manga I would use a scan that wasn't used in other wallpapers, I saw the MT e AP walls and I didn't see this scan:

First I've vectory, as always, the scan with my Illustrator no line-art tech. After that I thought about the concept and I realized that her future dress could be used for a space travel, as the Wallpaper Game "Space Odyssey" requests, infact this is my entry for that. So I imagined a story where Suu escapes from the Earth.

On Photospop I created a double circle, onto the outside I've added a 3d photoshop tool, in the circle inside I've used a magenta color and erased it. On the left I've added a black/white shade and putted Suu on the right. I copied and pasted the Suu vector and putted it behind the firstone, I overlaied black color, smudged the result with the PS Filter and reduced its opacity to 50%, this to create the reflex effect. On the curtain stuff I added some different pattenrs to create a less flat effect. For the background I used a real Earth space photo and added on it a filter, with the clone tool I modified some continents to create a sort of new planet. With two different space brushes I added the stars and after that I've colored the space and smudged the color level and reduced its opacity. At least I've used a second real sunrise space photo and I overlayed it on the others level, erased the unuseful parts, smudged with the PS filter, and riduced its opacity at 70%.

Hope you like my idea.

SamB.

It's nice to see you trying more difficult projects, especially a CLAMP scan.
The vector is very simple looking, which isn't a problem. I do think the white airbrush
technique you used was a mistake though, it only makes it look very amateur.
The jagged lines all around the wall are very distracting for me, really takes the good quality out.
I do love the idea however, I just wished maybe you used a stock photo to get the space look you wanted.
As well as more gradients in the wall for more contrast and lighting.

Make sure when you line you do it as evenly as you can, her eye-line looks unsymmetrical
and makes one eye pop out more than the other.

Hope this advice helps for your future projects :)

I agree with Kitten about you branching out to try different styles, and this is certainly a nice attempt to create a new atmosphere but I think you really need to polish your technique.

CLAMP artwork is really complex and thus, simplificating it might not work well all the time, I frankly believe Suu should have more layers of shading, especially on her clothes. You can rely on gradients as a way of shading, but in non-abstract wallpapers it might be insufficient.

The golden lighting on the planet is probably my favorite part of the wall, you really nailed it but when I see the rest of the background I can help but feel disappointed: the planet is very jagged.
I think these wallpapers offer some nice examples of a successful starry sky and planet background: Nysha's For All Eternity, stormfire12's Don't go and leave me and alenas' Your Prettiest Nightmare.

At any rate, keep it up, can't wait to see your improvements.

Thank you for your opinions, I try to work on different style. I know what you mean, Clamp's works are great and so detailed and my vector tech doesn't respect their complexity, but I like their works so much, although my vector tech is not so good as their works need.

Thank you very much for your opinion and advice I appreciated it and I will try to do better works ^_^"
