Ah, the final version really looks a lot cleaner. I think it's better this way too.
:D I'm looking forward to seeing the other letters too~
Helpful critiques? Well, there isn't much I'd change here. But if the book is gonna be so tiny, I'd take
out the little arabesque thingie on the corner. I'm afraid it'll become just a blur in the tiny version.

mm so o-o;
Thanks guys for all the feedback in my previous submission. I really appreciated it! I told my professors at the review your comments. And after that the illustration and layout dramatically changed .__. Thought I'd just show so those who commented can see the changes XD
Since in the end, I am creating a children's ABC book, we all agreed that the letter had to be prominent in the illustration. So a total change in the illustration happened. I can't be as abstract as I usually love to be, but this way I can keep a unified grid and structure throughout the book.
So far I'm creating 1 per day. (sketching and coloring! @_@) I have...letters A, B, F, V (LOL duno why i skip letters..) Not sure if I'll post more but maybe if people want to see.
This is by no means finalized. I would love to get some helpful critiques :D Any thoughts and opinions are greatly appreciated!
*also the book is going to be 9x7, so fairly small. A lot of the up close detail doesn't look so good to me...even though I have it as my wallpaper LOL The printed version looks a lot cleaner xD
*also also for those who where interested in purchasing a copy, you can buy online in about 2 months for around only 10 dollars *.*
thank you!

The style makes me think of Animalia by Graeme Base...
Bummer about the artwork, but agree that for kids the letter should be more important. XD I almost feel like the text should be an even darker color... or maybe it's the contrast against the peach-colored backing that seems off. Also, the colored insets for the (smaller) letters seem a bit distracting...
...just my 2 cents. ^_^

Kinda simple I think...just makes me feel like you extended the canvas and
really didn't do much but incorporate text. It's cute n all...colorful, if you're going for
a Children's cover book you nailed it. But other than that...like I said before, I prefer the Indy Art. -

I prefer the coloring of the Indy Art, but the layout and lines of this one. :P
