I've never had such mixed feelings about my own wallpaper before. -.-' I am quite proud of vector itself, even though there are tons of mistakes and messy parts, especially on the hair. But I still love it for some weird reason. On the other hand, I hate its background (or lack thereof) and I can't help the feeling that this wallpaper is lacking something. Maybe a splash of color. Maybe something else entirely. It's just too dull in my opinion. But after trying to come up with that something for a couple of months while vectoring desperately, I'm finally giving up and uploading it like this.

And yeah, it took me forever to finish. I started it back in August, I think, along with my Fairy Tail wallpaper. I was way too fed up with painting so I decided to switch to vectoring. After a couple of days I gave up, of course, and came back to FT wall. Since then I've been working on this from time to time and that's why some part are different from others, lol. Especially the hair. Some strands are neat and precise, with lots of detailing, but some are a total mess. I swear it's not because of my laziness.

Adobe Photoshop. A couple of months.
Around 750 layers (yes, my Photoshop was crying bloody tears and cursing me with all its might).
Scan from Minitokyo.
No textures or brushes. Pen tool only. In fact, lots and lots of pen tool only.

UPD. I thank Jakuro and MikuMasterX for pointing out that this wall is indeed way too bright. I just checked it on another laptop and I couldn't see anything, lol. The new, slightly darker, version should be up in a moment.

    I don't know if it's my monitor or not... but i literally have to put my head right up to the screen to make out the wallpaper! And i didn't think you had a signature but i found that in the end too. (Might be an idea to make that more visible. XD

    Nice attempt on the hair and nice job overall! Vexelling like can be a pain in the butt i know!
    But i would honestly love this wall even more if i could just view it without squinting in front of my monitor! @_@

    @Jakuro - Im not upping my contrast and lowering the brightness for one wallpaper. XD

    Of course you will get a lot of "wah waah, I can't see" on this piece. Up your monitor contrast and lower the brightness. :P

    Even so, you may want to put up a darkened version to avoid the onslaught. This wall is actually cool, I can see your details. The vector is good, the coloring is great. Its almost like a pencil drawing, unique look. Great job :D

    uwaaa its indeed bright, but i guess that because of some shades that suppose to be a little darker than the rest to emphasize the character itself. but that's not to say this is not good. Its freaking good! the details on the hair is very nice. and the vector is very neat. I don't see any jagged or rush lines. everything were carefully constructed and made. I'll give you two thumbs for that. ;)

    darkening the shades even more will help the character stand out more. For it not to be too plain, you can add some colors on the lips, or eyes or even those ribbon-like on the right side.

    great job on this piece and i see a bright future. keep up the good work! :)

    This kinda reminded me of Luches' wallpaper for it's monochrome just minus 1-color, coz luches' walls tend to have 1 color aside from grey. Everything is too bright for me, but the hair details of multishading is very nice!
    I think just add a little more darker shades would be better.

    This is gorgeous. GORGEOUS. But it's a tad light. It would be nice if it were a bit darker so I don't have to squint to get a look at it, and perhaps a splash of color? Maybe just colored eyes and keep the rest as-is? Regardless, lovely job~
