That.. took a while, prolly should have taken longer, but, it was fun! I like working with solid color and xxxholic has the perfect art for that, it was one of the first 10 manga I ever read, so it is special to me. This was mostly for practice, however I felt it was acceptable to post it once I finished. Its not an exact copy of the scan, though, hope that doesn't disappoint too much. oh and the flowers on his outfit are from the original scan because awesome look and texture, no heart to change them with my cruddy lineart skills
Progress Image
Personally, I like the blue one best!

Enjoy, maybe?!

textures/patterns from stock so I wouldn't have to link them :D <-- how devious of me! But if they don't require any credit then the mystery is grand!
everything else is painted/scribbled/dabbled by me

Woah, a change in style again eh? but there's still the bright coloring of jakuro ^^

I like the main image, coz it's bright and richly colored. I also like the textures you used in the curtain, they really give off an oriental feel to it. also the flowers are now richly colored!

My nitpick would be the textures you used on the smoke. I think you could have just used white and grayish shadows for them because they somewhat looked odd together with the thick lineart. Another thing which I find odd is how the curtain's shadows were colored. They looked 3d-ish and doesn't seem to mix well with the overall style of the character and the BG.

All in all, it's been a while to see a nice clamp wallpaper!

I agree that the shadows on those curtains could be more...subtle but I'm really digging the textures and the way you colored this. Been wanting to do this scan for a while now but I'm glad you did it because it really turned out nicely. And it has your trademark variations in color! :D

    Keep it up!

*_* love the patterns and textures used. i'm intrigue about the detail on his kimono. is it vectored or painted or such? *_* but still good job! :)
