Wove for de pretty scrap book wall. <3 I really like that you went for a different style than you usually do with the scrap book feel and simplicity, while still keeping your style with the vector. I also like how it has so much texture and dimension. And thanks for the shout-out, although it seemed a lil better, lol. :) Very nice job!

It's been awhile! I really wanted to submit something for the Halloween/Fall season, so here it is! Kinda late, but it's not Halloween yet. You only think she's cute and pretty! She secretly wants to eat you or something. @_@ Moving along...
I wanted to give the piece a kind of golden, autumn-ish color scheme, and a cut-out, scrap-booking feel. I was partly inspired by the stylized theatrical cutscenes of the game Alice: Madness Returns, thought I didnt make it look sketchy. I used some textures from a website, and scanned in my own rice paper for the clouds and origami paper for the kimono (yay for print-making leftovers! hoo-rah!). I vector-painted the scan of the poor nameless girl and added stitching to the moon & clouds. And no, one of the butterflies is not sawed in half, it's a profile view (I'm lookin' at you, Snicker! <.- )
Alternate Versions include the Halloween Spirit:
1 - Bloody, Creepy Version
2 - Bloody, Creepy Version with Alternate Kimono Colors to mimic Sae from Fatal Frame II. You knew it would come to
that, didn't you?
PS - For anyone curious, my Halloween present to DeviantArt is HERE, since sadly American McGee's Alice isn't
Japanese and so it doesn't have a category here.

Absolutely beautiful. I love how you took the original scan and transformed it completely, atmosphere and all. Not to mention that the use of textures on this is fantastic; I almost feel as though I can reach out and touch the clouds and moon! One of my favorite features is the fact that only half of her face is visible - it adds a mysterious quality to this, and meshes perfectly with the Halloween spirit of this year.
Wonderful work!

Ooh, I love the bloody, dripping version the most, hehe. Also, love how you gave it all that papery feeling, it almost makes me think I'm reading one of those pop-up books. Textures are pretty, too and I especially like the way her face is cut off like that, it only adds up the mysterious feeling. Great job! :)
