I wanted to make something simple looking, but at the same time complex. When I saw this scan I started getting some ideas. The wings are made completely out of text and took me over 3 hours to finish both wings. Then I coloured and touched up the scan which was another couple hours. As for the background, I wasn't sure what to do. I wanted to keep the concept simple, so I experimented for days before coming to the final result, which I like.
Hopefully I've pulled off something simple looking but complex for me to make! And I hope you like it! The lyrics in the wings mostly come from the songs This is War, Kings and Queens and Closer to the Edge by 30 Seconds to Mars. Also in there is some Mariana's Trench and Shinedown.
