Halloween is coming soon, and I wanted to make a wall to celebrate this. I found this scan of Suguna Miki (I love this mangaka!). I like her pose, like she's surprise on charming.

Girl with A Large Hat Practicing Black Magic

I vectored it (girl, magic circles, candles) and added a lot of new elements (that I drew then vectored): a broken glass, coldron, curtains, gold pentacle, wings, flowers, rose (and petals), dagger, books, fog, some symbols (create myself or not), shells and a black cat (I like it, it looks like it's surprised too!).

Since I worked on the atmosphere, I wanted it to be warm and mysterious...
Thanks to Alenas, CyanideBlizzard and Tina18 for their advices on lightning, I tried to improve this point.
I worked on it really hard, so I hope you'll like it!

Happy Halloween!

It's a very nice scene, quite Halloween-ish and warm. However, there are some jpg artifacts left from blurring and gradienting the shading on her cloak, it's not very advisable to do it by blurring. If you want to achieve that soft look, try the smudge tool. Also, after nearly 200 wallpapers, you really need to start improving lighting in your works since the current lighting makes no sense and doesn't work that way. Keep it up.

Nice Halloween themed wall! The vector is great as usual and the colors is so deep and dark and it really fits the whole wall. I like the background and the elements you have added especially the rose petals + the feather on the basin, the knife + the star pendant + the black neko really gives of the atmosphere of witch's thing. It would be nice too if you added a texture on the floor + add more shadows in some elements as well. Overall i like the concept! +fav! ^^,

While it's nice to get a head start on Halloween, and this is certainly a fun wallpaper I do have to admit that what would of truly made this an amazing wallpaper perfect for Halloween would of been a greater focus on lighting. Especially with candles, it really hurts the atmosphere when the scene is suppose to be more dramatic and the lighting isn't there.

I know that it's not an easily accomplished thing, but I know you've got the talent and you've done quite a few wallpapers to where I bet you really could! I'd recommend challenging yourself to that in the future. It'll help put your work in a new category in terms of talent and presentation.

I agree with Alenas. You always manage to skip out the lightning, the shadows exist because of the light, so if you got one, there must be the other too.
ALSO, great deal of thing, Like I said before, don't blur to get that soft painted look, you're just ruing it. Stick to the clean vector it suits you better.
It's such a pity that even thou you work hard you manage to outlook such important features.

Also part 2, is Sugina Miki, not Suguna. Might want to change that on the wall too, at LEAST pay the right respects to the mangaka.
Have a fun day. Good luck on next walls.

    Nice job ;)

The book on the lower right has a hexagram (star of david) though, not a pentagram. :P
