When I saw this scan I really liked the background, with the cutout of the bamboo. So I decided to trace it and give it my own spin. I found out that this is an image from "Dare Hitori", a game by Typeset which conveniently no longer has any information about this game on their site.
For the background, I overlaid some patterns - leaves for the trees, and flowers for the orange sky behind the trees.
Then I wanted to give it some more texture and opted for a rough painted/canvas feel, although different from my Kino no Tabi canvas texture. (Actually, this texture was based off the one I did for Liberty, the Chrno Crusade wall.)
As for the title, well, I wanted a way to incorporate the treble clef sign. So I needed a "G". So... yeah, maGic. I do like how the curl of the clef fits perfectly into the "o" of song. :)

Wow! The vectoring (is it vectoring?) is very good!
Also, the bg fits pretty well! The bg would be better
if it was a little bit lighter? Just a suggestion ^_^'

what a lovely piece. I like the brush effects that you used in order to make it appear cloudy like. great job to the miko as well.
