Hooray!
I finally finished it!
This is actually requested by my friend few weeks ago. This is the first time ever I spent so many days in making single wallpaper and that’s all thanks to my art block…hope this doesn’t look bad…

So many thought cross my mind in the process of making this wall and when everything is done, it vanishes. I don’t even remember what I should write. XD

And why did I switch Rei’s school Uniform to Kimono? Cause I’m feeling traditional and I felt like making a major change to the scan. I even spent days searching for Kimono picture in the web for my revision. I don’t remember the hardship of rotating/resizing etc but I’m sure glad I finished the process. (LOL)
For the floral background, I found the image immediately, but I spent days in figuring out the way to redraw it.
Oh hey, what do you know, I did remember something to write.

I like the contrast between the orange/red background and the purple kimono; it was also a very neat idea to place her in kimono and make the whole wall more traditional. :)

One tip though - when vectoring, it's better to use 'shape layers' than paths, particularly when it comes to hair - paths have those ugly blunt tips while with shape layers you can make them nice and crisp. It takes more time to make something with them but the result is worth it. Nice wall and keep it up! :3

Even though the vector line art could use some improvement, the idea itself is really beautifully executed. Love the patterns on her kimono along with the ones in the background, and I like that you didn't make them matchy-matchy, it makes it a lot more interesting to look at :)

Not knowing anything about vectoring, I think that the concept is lovely. The colors work well together and the patterns are pleasing without making the wall too "busy". Great work. ^_^

I think the transition from the original scan to the wall is pretty well done, I do have some complains though ^^'

I think the overall color scheme should be more saturated, so the colors would pop up more.
Also, the outlines are bothering me a tad :I, stroke path is not advisable for vectors because all the lines look flat. I suggest you moving to fill path or another vectoring technique. That way the outlines won't look as monotonous.

Great job on the patterns though, looks really fancy :3.

Well I am not into making wallpapers on this level yet, so I can't give you an advice or anything, but I do know this.
This wallpaper does look quite nice and it is interestingly looking. :)

I'm really not fond of Rei, but I had to download this anyway because it is just that gorgeous. Great job. :)
