Quoth my DeviantART description: Counterparanormal Operative "Grozz" steps into territory alleged to have paranormal activity. His only assistants: his trusty advanced rifle, a state-of-the-art HMD and a PET (mini UAV) armed with one devastating biomissile.
I remember my experience making this. Familiar elements like battle gear and holographic images aside, I had to self-study several new ones: planet... digital camouflage... environmental lighting... all of these made production tougher than usual.
Here's an explanation:
1. The planet wasn't too difficult: looking up DeviantART should guarantee some good results.
2. The digicamo was difficult to do at first: an online tutorial
helped.
3. The environmental lighting wasn't easy because the soldier was on a layer group separate and above the backdrop
- I had to apply lighting effects separately.
The Spock beaming scene in Star Trek 2009 was the initial driving force behind the picture. The rest was left to my imagination.
Sidenote:
I actually don't like writing long descriptions.
But then, it seems that all the good Indy Artists here write by the paragraphs...
