Thanks to 31101 for this awesome scan!

I just fall in love! Don't you? So I vectored it and tried to create a simple BG with cherry blossoms. The goal was to bring to light his beautiful face... I hope I succeeded! I really paid my attention to the shining effect on his katana too. I finally emphasized the whole and atmosphere in playing with contrast, colors and saturation.

I hope you'll like it!

WOW!^__^ magnificent work, bright and severe just as the look of Hijikata can be, with his irresistible violet eyes! BRAVA!

I just love, love, loooove the eyes O.o they're just so... awesome... *sigh~* dreamy~ haha

I think the shine on the katan takes away from the focus of him when you look at the static view of the wallpaper. *shrug* but then again I've always had trouble figuring out how to make and control a focus XDD

Oh and I do love the flowers behind him. Simple, clean, and beautifully done ^-^ Yay~!

Some of the lines on this, especially in the eyes, are really jagged, and that takes away from the work you did. Also, the gradient-style shading on the cherry blossoms in the bg doesn't mesh well with the shading you did on his hair...and the gradient on his skin and eyes is different from the fabric...over all it just doesn't harmonize well. The lens flare on the sword is really dramatic but there's no areas of intense shadow to balance out such an intense light source.
