This one was my entry to the Assassin's Creed "Carte Blanche" artbook. Unfortunately it was not selected but it was worth the try!
I drew a female ninja assassin (see my previous portrait of her). I chose the medieval/feudal era of Japan wherein the clans of samurai warriors and ninja were still at conflict. She was actually a samurai before, but she was betrayed by her own feudal lord. Since then, she decides to retire as a samurai warrior and joined the Assassin's Order and thus became a ninja assassin (kunoichi or female ninja). With the combination of the Bushido code of a samurai and the cunning of a ninja, this makes her extremely manipulative and calculating. She's now in pursuit of her feudal lord in order to exact her revenge.
I'll post her final character design soon. My classmate and I haven't given her a name yet. So we both need your help!
Media: copic sketch markers, prang and color & co watercolors, white ink, white acrylic paint, Chinese ink, speed/steel pen, faber castell colored pencils, gold and silver gel pens.
Inspirations & References: Naruto, Basilisk, CLAMP, Granado Espada, Samurai 7 (better to acknowledge references than never)
