Gorgeous work!
The transition from the scan to the wallpaper is amazing, especially in terms of colors and the way you extended the
scan is fab.
I'm sort of torned with the color of the outlines, I think that a lighter shade of brown would have work better,
but it's just me.
The patterns really add the perfect touch to this, nice job on that as well.
Artist Comment
Hi everyone.
This is my new wall. I’ve found this gorgeous Kaori Wakamatsu scan and decided what to do with it. The wall is a combination of
vector and painting; I abused my favorite warm color: orange, and this is the outcome. Sorry for the short description
but it is late and i have to get up early tomorrow.
Pattern source: 1; 2
Alternative versions available.
Enjoy.
Edit: the thumbnail is horrible :(

I'm in love with this wall right after i saw the thumbnail o_o.
When i look closely, it's really beautiful. I love the colors, though i'm not much of an orange/brown/gold color person, but this is definitely gorgeous. When looking at this, I thought the wall is shining =O.+fav~. Keep up the good work.

I love the richness of the orange-- I can't see myself liking this wall in any other color. ^_^

It's beautiful! I love the colour scheme you chose because it's the first thing that captured my attention, not to mention the gorgeous scan you started with it. Everything works really well together.

Great job! I like the textures and the richness of the wall. I'm not usually a big fan of orange, but I think it's perfect for this wall. The only thing that bothers me is that though I can't put my finger on it, something about her outfit seems off to me. Maybe it's because it's so dark or that it doesn't have all the shading and texture/patterns everything else does? Again, it looks great and you did an awesome job!

Wow.
Very well done. You see, orange is not my favorite color, but you managed to turn it into something amazing!
I also loved the contrast between the shiny fish and the dark silhouette of her kimono.

I think this is gorgeous and hard worked enough for a highlight... It's actually better than a lot of highlights ^^;;

I love the orangeness! 8d Love the vector + paint work on the fishes. I just feel that the kimono needs something. Like some patterns/designs on it. But everything else looks lovely though. ;)

i very much enjoy your wall, lady andain! i am always enlightened when an artiste whom i am unfamiliar with (which is quite rare) is walled for the first time. the lady is well rendered, i love her very much.. for she reminds me a little of Yoshitaka Amano and Kunie Kanbara. the wall is well balanced and i very much prefer the non-bubble version best. a very minor crit- a little more detail in the kimono such as patterns etc. may have been ideal and i would have liked to have seen your typography flush to the bottom border as i roll with a mac.
i hope you don't mind me stalking.. er i mean following you, now.

I'm amazed when I look at the original scan how far you've taken this. You took a picture that seemed dull and even a bit lifeless and made it elegant and so colorful even while sticking mostly to orange and brown hues. Nicely done!
