Great job!
Hi!
Thanks to angelbell00 for this awesome scan of Alvaro!
http://static.minitokyo.net/view/03/06/472803.jpg
I put the link but I don't know how put directly the picture in miniature (Sorry!)
When I saw it, I was admirative because of design and butterflies (I like butterflies!) So I vectored it (since 1 week). Since I tried different versions of BG and finally chose this one. I painted a crashed glass to increase the broken feeling, he seems to be sad or hopeless (pinned as a butterfly! ). I added broken glass that sparkles (vectored) and finally emphazised the lightning, contrast, saturation and dominant color to create a sweet but melancholic atmosphere.
I hope you'll like!

Great job!
Truely an excellent wall with a brillant choice of colors !
I love the touch of colours added by the butterfly when most parts of the wall are dark ;D
High five !
Your vectors are nice and clean as always. :) I like the addition of broken glass and how it's symbolic of the characters' feelings. Great choice of colors too. :D

I'm using your last wallpaper on my computer now ^ ^ really the expression of the character fascinated me ^ ^ I
think the broken glass are your specialty ^ ^
Glad you broke from your usual pattern. This one is a good wall, I like his pose and the way you colored everything, not very fond of the sparkle, but still, it's a very good wall <3
And how I like it. Wonderful work. ... ah, I think I stared an apparent eternity at it ;). Truly captivating ... I think your choice of the background compliment the feeling of melancholy and sadness great plus with the crashed pieces of glas scattered on top an everywhere else, the picture ... hm, how to say it best, seemed more real and ... vivid is what I would say, I guess. I'm all-out with snyp - the faint touch of color through the butterflys are fitting perfectly with the dark tone of the picture. Excellent!
Excellent wall with a Wonderful choice of colors !
Great job!

Excellent wall with a Wonderful choice of colors !
magnific
Although I like the idea for this wallpaper, there are a few things that kinda bug me. For one, and I know the original image was the same way, why is the butterfly on his chest partially under his clothes? The perspective makes that look very unnatural and next to physically impossible, in my opinion. The other thing that bothers me is the glass. Most of the glass seems to be floating in the air, and the glass that doesn't seem like it should be floating does not look like it lies naturally. On top of that, the glass on the top right corner is extremely blurry.
I think you had a good idea, but it really could have been better had you took the time to make everything look more natural.
dark and beautiful!
thanks for posting
Wow. I love it. I don't know what it is about it... I just freaking love it.
dah!, i think HE is a girl !
Overall this is MUCH better than many of your recent submissions in terms of quality. The gradation on the butterflies actually works (because they are more flat, people's faces are not), giving them a luminescence; and the vectoring is smooth. The eyes are colored well and the highlighting on the face-mask is nicely executed, but after that you skimped on the shadows again. Adding another layer of shading in to the darker areas does wonders to a piece; partially shading well in a small area and neglecting it in the rest of the wallpaper only shows that you rushed it again, which is a shame as this could have been very beautiful if it was given more care and attention.
Part of the problem when vectoring in Photoshop is that when you make the lines too thin it creates a jagged edge. If you would make the lines a little thicker with the pen-tool it would reduce this issue. The don't have to be huge, just slightly larger. This is one of the biggest obstacles you frequently ignore, so in the end the line-art is still very jagged.
I like it, Thanks for sharing!
