I took the scan here in MT but I forgot which anime or manga this belongs to. (edit: the scan is not from here, I think ^^;). One day when I was browsing nonsense in the Internet, I stumble upon a website tutorial about vectoring anime characters. I tried it out and my first attempt was Sailor Venus from Sailormoon. I was not satisfied with the outcome so I looked for another scan that interests me. This is the one ^____^
I started this vector two years ago and finished it last week of December 2010. The vector has gone through four imaging software because I kept changing operating systems that time. The first I used was Photoshop 8, then Illustrator, then Inkscape, then GIMP and lastly Photoshop CS5... wait, that's 5 XD
Majority of the tutorials that I have seen makes use of shape tool but I find it quite uncomfortable because I don't know how to use it. This vector is purely pen tool alone. I first drawn the outlines in Illustrator then started colors on the head but when my computer crashed (my XP crashed and my computer won't accept XP anymore) I changed OS to PCLinuxOS and continue my vector in Inkscape. When I opened the file, there was only one layer when there was supposed to be multiple layers but I still manage to finish it.. whew! XD
The position of the character is screaming to become a wallpaper XD

Yes, she is in need of becoming a wallpaper. Doing so, it would not surprise me if you made this work something which lays your foundation as an accomplished artist. As the work stands now it is something remarkable. Your signature is especially magnificent yet not overdone. I love this effort.

She looks like Miharu from Girls Bravo.
In terms of the vector itself I must say I am rather impressed! While it's difficult for me to critique it without more proper knowledge on vectoring and without it being bigger, I can definitely tell you put a lot of work into it. You did an especially nice job on the eyes! The color looks nicely done and so does the shading as well.
Overall, nicely done! I hope we can see more work like this from you, Cheri. Good work my assistant!

I mean.. its great! I love the scan but the bg is bit bright. I mean it is okay to have whatever background you want for a vector but I suggest giving some highlights or shadows near the scan. Other than that, it is quite good and sexy.

Hey, I'm here to critic as you asked for...
Lemme see...
As everyone asid before, this ABSOLUTELY NEEDS to become a wallpaper (so I can use XD).
Uuuhm... I am helpless when it comes to vectors and/or wallies, but as it was already said before, the translucent gown (that just sounded so nice *-*) is reeeaally well done.
What I can do is suggest ways of turning it into a wallie.
I looked around the series pics and there doesn't seem to be some kind of specific scenario: all I saw was a bunch of girls in bikini. But I think you can work a little more on the bed/fabric underneath her. Maybe turn all that into this (I don't know the name for those veils in English XP). Oh, and +fav!
