Hi!
Thanks to Chiisai-san for this awesome scan!
I just love it!
So I vectored it (really long) in paying my attention to details (especially hair). I wanted to insert colors in
comparaison with the original picture (in fact, I prefer it colored, I tried the 2 solutions).
I added vectored floor and red cover for the BG (I tried 3 different BG, but the characters are really big, so it was
difficult to make a detailed BG... )I worked on light, color, saturation, etc to make this atmosphere.
I hope you'll like it!

I'm not sure what you do with lighting but what ever you do, makes the colors bleak and bland, especially on the right side; I'd suggest you play with blending modes and colors more.
Also, the red background is a bit too strong for such a scene, cooler shades of blue or silver might look better. The red rose stands out too much as it is now, as well.
