there is also a shortcut way.
First, you enlarge the scan to the size you want. Instead of rendering, u use the pen tool to draw lines/ path.
then stroke them. Be sure to use a colour that is close to the color you want to fill in. e.g: Dark purple for light
purple hair. Drak brown for light brownish skin etc.
Then set the opacity of the lines to suit your taste
