I hope that the next Koihime Musou series will actually focus on the Kazuto fish out of water element (with harem shenanigans).

I wouldn't be surprised if it does focus more on him (or at least the group's interactions with him). If you watch the opening, for a split second, you do see a shadowed, male figure before the final bit.
And given they (sort of) introduced the Ryuubi Gentoku character into the series, then it'd only make sense to follow through with showing the REAL Ryuubi this time. It mostly seemed like this series was meant to introduce us to the most major players in the series, hence the lack of any real in-depth interaction between them; at least between Kanu and gang and the 3 big kingdoms.
