Teresa leads the damaged Yamato, where the crew was placed into a Escape pod and was forced to eject from their beloved ship therefore Susumu and a unconscious Yuki are all that is left of the crew inside the ship, into the sea of stars. I remember not only seeing this moment in the anime but in the video game as well.
