I love mythological stories, so I think it's cool that you're looking for inspiration in myths. As for your picture is pretty good, but I think there's some things you can work on, like proportion of human body, and the background looks a little bit unfinished. I like the colors, especially yellow/gold details like jewellery. Well, I'm waiting for another myth picture from you :)

I tried to do watercolor of a thai myth. manora/kinnaree is half bird and half human. she gets captured by a hunter and is presented to a prince. because they take away her wings she cannot get home and eventually falls in love with the prince. when they were about to use her as a sacrifice to suffice the gods with their misfortune, she escapes and made a promise that she will wait 7 years, 7 months, 7 days, 7 hours, 7 mins, 7 sec for him to come for her. if he misses the deadline, she will move on. the prince makes it barely on time after all the obstacles he had to suffer from and they live happily ever after.
