As it turns out, walling is the most efficiënt therapy against real life emotional distress: I finished this after
roughly 10 days of work, and I’m quite pleased with how it turned out.
Base: You Shiina scan that I fell in love with
at first glance, just couldn’t wall it because I was too depressed.
Layers:…uhm, about 300 (the wings are responsible for that one lol)
I liked the original scan, but somehow I immediatly thought how it would make a beautiful angel-themed wall. So I added
dark wings (under careful supervision of ala21ddin21). I chose to give them a rather bony structure, inspired by the
images I had of bat wings, since I had an image in my mind of a fallen angel, regretting her sins now that she has been
banished to hell.
To me, the wall symbolizes the inability to cope with the past and/or the consequences of our actions. Just like the
fallen angel, we desperately try to cling onto how things used to be (the image of heaven we can see refelected in the
bottom half of the wall), and fail to notice our current situation (= the angel is in hell) and how we will have to
learn how to live in it. In short: the wall is about change, transgression, evolution… the road to redemption.
So yes, a rather dark wall this time but hey, maybe it was time I served you guys something different ?. Many thanks to
