My run on blurb from DA:

Yes brush strokes! I love seeing strokes of brushes, so yes they are intentional. If you hate brush strokes, leave.
I just got PhotoShop CS5, upgraded from CS2. Lots of things to learn, and things to locate... Some tools have also been tweaked. But this is OT, sorta.
In the PASH! pullout there was a window that I've decided to keep for this wallpaper. Tweak of course.
Choppy brushes, visible strokes, all add to the feel of dark magic/energy.
The vector featured in this piece (does not include the window) can be downloaded here. Keep in mind credit must be given if you choose to use it in anything.
Please remember to not use this wallpaper for other graphics. This includes for signatures or avatars/icons.
