Finally another wallpaper from me! after 2 months?
This wallpaper is a Bday gift to: Stormfangs ( sorry for the super late bday gift ), Alenas ( who has the same bday as me) and also Brad (who celebrated his bday last aug too) Sorry for the late gift guys....
Man, I haven't touched PS for a while now! Actually, the wallpaper that I've been working on was a Hiiro no Kakera wallpaper, then I was strucked with this so-called waller's block and so I trashed that WIP and walled another one. ( It's still somewhere in my HD though, hope I can finish it someday). I've already had my eyes on this scan ever since May, but I didn't worked on it because I kept on finding more new scans which diverted my attention away from it.
After setting that Hiiro no Kakera wallpaper aside, I made myself to wall this scan around the 3rd week of August...Because of exams and all those homework, I didn't get to wall straight. There are somedays where I don't even get to touch it! This is the only week where I get to relax a bit and so I decided to finish it...And finally it's done! If you're gonna ask me how long it took me to wall it.... then it's roughly 7 days...

I choose this scan because it kinda reminded me of how kids were innocent and pure , believing in witch craft, fantasy
and stuffs...( maybe it's because of my bday and all those bday celebrants dedicated to this wallpaper and that I
felt like getting old? NOOOO, I'm still young at heart!) so there!

*___* i so love the tiles! and i think it will be more realistic if you put gaps in between. even just a thin one. but i hope you can add more different details that is not in the scan. Like in the eyes, scattered golden rose petals, the golden rose itself and some lights or etc... so the meaning could be wider than what it already conveys.
but overall, its a good piece. very neat and i like the hair.

Wow! i like how you vector the character :D the colors
the shadings are good! The floor is good as well! very detailed especially
on the blue tiles. The butterfly is nice though i found it less detailed,
the focus and blurriness of the gold rose is good though need more glow :)

i think this has alot of great things going for it, definite a great color scheme potential, pretty good technique etc. but the too dark/gray gradient you used to make things "darker" is really just washing your image out. bring out the colors and if you want to make it darker, use cooler colors on her face (white highlights, blue/gray darklights). right now the color is really flat and doesnt go anywhere in terms of helping you express the innocence that the positioning/composition would suggest aka they are too "generic" and arent very consistent or interesting.

The pattern in the floor is good too. But didn't the golden rose look too weird to put it in your wallpaper? And
you just put one of this golden rose, and you blurred it a little just to make sure it's in front of the girl....
Maybe that's more good if you just put more golden roses surrounding the girl in the floor, not put it in front of
the camera.... But overall, this is a good job.

The good ones always come after wallers block lol, so let's see:
First off, great choice of scan, and I think you made a good decision when leaving out certain parts of the roses.
I love how you gave the butterfly a glowing effect, it's much more appealing this way then it was in the original.
Nice going with the floor tiling as well, I always like that marble look.
Your vectoring clearly hasn't suffered any damage because of the block, always nice and clean as a whistle. The
eyes of the character are so soft, yet they seem to pierce right through you, fabulous work!
I hope you're cured for good now, and let more deliciousness come our way
