Hi!
When I saw this scan
from Sora no woto I noticed the saturate and beautiful down-to-earth colours. Both colours and the perspective caught my
interest so I decided to wall it.
I wanted to keep the scan as it was, so I resized it a bit and recreated the background. (Making clouds is always a
favourite). I made the ground a little bit sloping to add a little bit tension, so it wouldn’t be so plain to
watch.
I added contrast (of course) and played with light and colour tones to make it more vibrant, but not as much to lose the
beautiful original earthy colours. I increased the feeling of a strong sun in the horizon though.
Since the scan is a cover, I had to repare and paint over some broken parts and fill it with texture. I couldn’t clean
the scan because it was very noisy, so I decided to keep the noise. I think it fits more to the concept though.
It took about a week to make, most part were used to play with different lights and such. I have gotten really into the lightning part when I went through all my older walls. I think I made all of them more colourful and vivid xD (please check them out in their updated versions lol)
Anyway, I’m really satisfied with the light, and that I managed to keep the original colours even though I changed a lot.

There is much to appreciate here. I admire the dramatic effect with the dark foreground and that of the bright background. Each of the three girls has a distinct mood but seem to be close friends. The daisies in the field, front and left are a nice touch that keeps the gloominess at bay.
