Made for the Final Round of MT Knockout 2010:
Welcome to My World!
"Tell Me Goodbye
Origami Patterns"
You can find the link to the contest post here, and the link to the judges' results post here.
I promised myself last time that I wouldn't be making any more last-minute entries, but obviously I failed >_>. I actually ended up doing part of this on the ride to a friend's house for dinner (I had my laptop with me in the car ._.).
Formally, this wasn't a super difficult wall. It was just...coming up with ideas. And even then I felt it was a bit cliché - went along with the whole 1,000 Cranes legend, Hiroshima, and a Japanese woman in kimono. I couldn't think of anything else for "tell me goodbye" + origami patterns >_<.
HUGE thanks to Misa for hosting this AMAZING Knockout Contest. After working on AP Clash with Flyin', I realized just
how difficult running a contest can get >_<. Kudos to you Misa, you deserve it! *bows*

I love the colors and design like no other - it's such a nice blend of traditional Japanese style and lovely patterns. One detail though - those floral patterns on her kimono look a bit too blurry compared to the rest that look very crisp and clean.
Other than that, I like this very much. :)

ah Yoriko Ito- someone has finally walled that beautiful artwork. it is one a handful of scans which i hoped would be walled by a capable waller.
love your textures, your crane? birds and the kimono especially. i just wish the 2 fishes weren't in the vicinity of her kimono.

I absolutely love origami and other Japanese textures, and you've made an exceptionally gorgeous wallpaper. The entire piece is elegant and mimics the look of Japanese prints very nicely. This just might be my new background <3

Amazingly beautiful. I loved the crane in her hands and the fact that you can't see her face. It makes us wonder which are her expressions.
