I saw this scan awhile back and fell in love with it, brought it to Alenas's attention and it
became the begining of an adventure. Well, I wanted a challenge and I definitely got it with this wall. I had
no idea what to make for the BG but I didn't want to just call it quits and bail out on her so I thought alot,
and spent a good amount of time being very lazy about it. Finally picked it up again and decided to do a garden look,
somehow through the vectoring and shading it grew into something more.
I created an abstract scenic style wall, fits both my style and Alenas. The structure is vectored, no reference
it's all my handywork. Behind Watanuki is suppose to be the "door" to wonderland or any type of land you
wish really,
it's just meant to give the wall a mystical magical look. I added the clock for a more CLAMP style feeling, and
also to give the
wall a more mysterious look. Added clouds, stars and more gradient power. Highlights and effects, the vector was
monochrome before but a few friends suggested we do color so Alenas did a wonderful job going back and coloring the
vector. That being the final installment of the wall.
It was a heck of alot of fun, even though it took a long ass time. I certainly hope Alenas will collab with me once
again,
after she's done glaring at me for all the work I made her do XD
Alenas Comments:
Well, this was supposed to be done like, ages ago but since we were both so busy, we only managed to finish it now, lol.
I also got the wonderful task of vectoring the whole scan (shakes fist at Kitten) which took me....pretty much happily
ever after. XD
It was supposed to stay monochrome like the original scan but then it kind of looked bland compared to Kit's
colorful background so I had to add some shading and color everything again by working with levels and contrasts and
colors until it matched the overall atmosphere of the wall. In the end I added some highlights on the hair and skin and
that was it. It sure looks like a piece of cake, but this scan entails half of my life in it probably, bahahaha~!
*chokes on her tea*
Anyway, I have to say I had fun working on this wall and seeing it come to life; Kit's been an awesome partner and
friend and I hope this isn't our last collab. :3

Ok...like i told you on msn, honey, is a nice wallpaper, the vector from alenas is quite amazing. The whole scenary fits perfect with the colors of the vector, and is a calm scene, well achieved from both of you.
Now...i think, something that totally takes the attention from the vector, is the clock, i know is to add a CLAMP style into the wall, but in my opinion doesnt fit with the rest of calm scene of the wall, maybe is the position or the still realistic look on it.
Beside that is a wonderful collaboration.

It does look magical, I like the colors, so shinny and glamorous. The flowers and dresses are so pretty, good job on coloring them they mix well together and also fit well in the bg.

First of all, it looks so much better now that the characters are coloured :3 You guys coloured it real nice super quick =O The colours are blended in nicely :3
A bit of nitpick:
- Watanuki's face is a bit too washed out, the sun is behind him, so technically only the edges of his face is supposed to glow.
- Since the vector is fully outlined, maybe you should give the background more outlines for a more conformed look.
Otherwise you guys did a great job putting this together ^^ -

ok it looks so much better now that the vector is actually colored, that way they dont just look like paper in the middle of the wall. i think you need to erase some of the lighting from watanuki's head, its really washing him out and i think the vertical structures in the back need to be displaced from the center, right now it lacks movement

This has such strange, mystical vibe to it. I'm not sure I like the bg, although it is really pretty. It does look much better with the characters colored. Sorry this response is so late.
