I was planning on doing a full digital painting, but I felt the need to take a step back to my origins :P
Been have trouble concentrating, and the speed of my computer didn't help in that aspect...
This was actually inspired from Singing in the Tree by female Taiwan artist Guo-Jing, heh
I think I'm getting better at drawing trees. I'm trying my best with the leaves... but will continue to improve (not for this drawing, but if I ever draw trees again)
Unfortunately, I don't keep track on how long I take to finish, but roughly 3 days in total since I've been gradually adding details to it along the way. Photoshop as always for my editing :P
And yes, for those of you wondering, Zuru has grown up a little

Whoa...Zuru has legs! ;) lol Sorry, that was my first thought. His coat is open more than I'm used to. His coat
appears shorter than usual, if you extend the part of his coat that's hanging down from the branch it'd
elongate it, but maybe I'm the one assuming that his coat shrank. ^_^' It looks fine either way.
That is one bent tree, but it's totally possible in reality. Great job! You've done very good drawing the tree
to be believable as to how it would grow if it were that bent in reality (the large overhang back over the center of
gravity of the trunk). Awesome!
I really like the autumn colors you've used. The grass and leaves compliment each other. Zuru sort of gets lost
under the tree and blends in perfectly. I like the effect. I think that if the blue side of his coat was showing
he'd stand out more, but that might hinder the rest of the piece. Just a two-sided thought. :) Nice work. I <3

Me too! I hope that Zuru's grown-up look isn't permanent... ^_^;; I kinda like the chibi Zuru! But lovely job on this one segnoj... Minus Zuru the artwork kinda reminds me of classic Winnie-the-Pooh illustrations... ^_^

well my first impression is you did great in painting the landscape.. You really paid attention to wind, at how the
direction it blows affects the motion of the grass and leaves <3 you're great at details! Seeing this makes me
kind of feeling the wind.

Ahah now Zuru looks more like an old sage ^_^. I love the way the pencil strokes suggest the wind in the grass and leaves. Great coloring as usual, so thumbs up :)
Just one thing, you might have added some details on the roots, but otherwise it's all good !
