4 days after submitting a Card Captor Sakura wallpaper, I'm back with another CLAMP wallpaper. This time with Kobato-chan. I actually wanted to wall Kobato but I ended up pairing her with Sakura-chan. I found this kobato scan and then this Sakura scan and thought of combining the concept. Then I thought the cadged Hato (dove) looks... I think caged birds look poor so I decided not to use it and use Sakura-chan's egg w/ wings as my main concept so I looked for another scan of Kobato-chan.
And I greatly appreciate Alenas' help in this part... or else I will end up with a failure wall where I worked hard in the vector of the 2 characters. Ah and sorry if I had filled up your inbox with my messages because I'm clumsy like Kobato-chan... sending 2 same messages + correction mail. Anyway, Alenas, look at the lower left part of the wall.
Outlining Sakura-chan is easy but Kobato-chan... her hair was pain and I had to reconstruct her arm & dress. At first, Kobato-chan's left side had more hair... because I failed to reconstruct it nicely I removed it. The frills... I wish I could vector more frills but I fail at reconstructing so I ended up putting lots of clouds.
The coloring, I thought of soft coloring would fit this concept but I'm not not really good in this style of coloring in all parts. I really like the coloring style in my previous wall where there's a mix of soft coloring and hard vector.
The BG... I strongly decided to use pink as the sky's color. That's one reason why picked this theme. Another is the dream & colorful clouds... and one thing I learned, Red + White is not equals to Pink... Pink = White + red-violet. If it's traditional paint, red + white = pink... except watercolor.

The vectoring is nice and clean, though I noticed on Kobato's hair
the lines kinda disappear...got tired huh? XDThe light shining on them is nice though I think
it needs to be spread more, since it looks pretty unbalanced in that corner.Eggs, clouds and those matching outfits are so cute and
a nice addition to making the wall look so lovely and happy.Wonderful job <3

while i like what you've done in general, i think that some more definition in the painting is needed to keep this from looking too soft and formless. i also somehow feel that texture might be a great solution to the problem and give it that pastel feel that CLAMP is so famous for.
keep up the good work.

I like this. The only thing I don't like is the light source. It's distracting and does nothing to add to the overall atmosphere. I see no highlights in the hair or obvious shadows that the light source would otherwise create.

This is wonderful. The colors are so warm and sweet! You did a fantastic job of making Kobato match Sakura, and she looks like her arm was always hugging the big egg! Her hair and dress turned out very well. Very good vector work. I love it.

much cuter than her. Anyway nice vectoring the combined scans and you
did a great job making them fit in a one wall. The bg is nice though i found
it kinda plain and empty in some parts, maybe lack of stuffs to put..Also i
agreed with vita about adding a texture on the wall and it might add some
more life to your wall. Overall nice scans used. ^^, -

Hrm... I like the general atmosphere, and the lines and general colors are excellent.
The light rays seem pretty weird to me, though, since they are above the clouds, and usually such defined rays are due to the light piercing through the clouds... I also think that a mix of hard vector and soft painting would work much better here rather than just all soft shading.and yeah... RGB blends colors differently from traditional paint... I actually forgot how to blend real paint from digital painting too long. xD
