Artist Comment

I've been working on this since the end of July... it's such a relief to finally finish it! Though I'm at a complete loss for a title, so I just made something that relates to the picture and the series... any further significant meaning is up to you because I'm brain dead now.... mostly I just saw the scan and thought it was pretty so I decided to wall it and it kinda exploded from there.

I painted off a scan from AP that Kitten had to download for me, right after that I found a version on MT, and eventually I just stopped using the scan altogether and eyeball drew it from a postcard I had of the same pic. hahaha....

I love drawing skies. The rest of it was kind of a pain, though.

WOW this piece is absolutely stunning. Upon fullview, you can really see how deliberate tofu is with her color usage: slightly messy but never random. And the gorgeous lighting, as seen in her other works, expertly incorporates Cloud and Kadaj into the background. But above all, her use of mixed brushes to create texture and depth has always defined the tofu painting style. Great Job!

    Aw, man, Tofu! You're always making the most amazing paintings! The colors on the sky are totally killer. And Cloud? OMG, you painted so awesomely, such perfect perportions an detail. This entire thing is a masterpiece. Amazing work as usual...oh! AND THE LIGHTING IN THE WALL! It's totally ____________ (insert superlative here). I'm a sucker for great lighting.

    I don't really say this enough on your drawings (which I really should :P), I love your drawing style
    But most of the time I'm left speechless with your ability to improve and develop so much with your style o.O

    Great work drawing the swords, especially being able to blend them with the environment from the swords reflection
    And the patch of grass under Cloud's sword and the rock face was really well drawn
    That's only to name a few... but really, everything else is equally awesome :nya:
