Artist Comment

Made for Round 9 of the Which?Waller contest on the planning board. The theme was Animal Planet which is the main reason Sukekiyo (the cat) is in this.

I've wanted to wall this scan of the guys for quite some time, but it was so flat colored I wasn't sure what to do for a background. In the end I was inspired by an Ouran High School Host Club wall by flyin. Sukekiyo comes from a scan in the artbook, which I own.

I can't remember how I came up with the idea of giving the cat a speech bubble, but I really like how it balances out that side of the wall. Originally I was going to have him saying "Meow" but then I remembered that he wouldn't technically say "Meow" he'd say the Japanese version (whatever that is) so I decided to just switch to him saying the name of the series. XD

I also have a version with black borders around the rectangles in the background which will be up on my site eventually (I prefer this how they look without the borders).

    This wallpaper shows that simplicity can make a wallpaper look at its best as well. Nice touch on the bubble message. :) Oh pure bishies~! XD

    the cat changed its colour, it's really a match with the whole BG i think
    and the speech bubble is cool!
