Yus, I know this wall doesn't include your usual, overabused and unoriginal photoshop grass, space, planets or light effects because I'm just so sick of seeing the same lack of creation in 90% of the MT wallpapers. So I decided to challenge myself this time and draw an original background from scratch. Seriously, you don't want to know how much you have to put in a scenery like this to make it look so natural, smooth and flawless. Everything 'cep fishes was hand-drawn. Not based on any other anime background or photography.

It first took me about 3 days to come up with the idea of a giant aquarium building. The original scan I planned to use wasn't from Kimino. It was a random cute cat girl pic. I thought it could be fun having the catgirl drooling over the fishes from a see-through-glass effect. After 5h+ of works, I realized how much the cat girl didn't fit at all with what I started to draw. I remembered I faved that pic of Haruka on MT a while ago. Now that was the purfect picture for my background. I built the whole scenery around her and it's like she's really part of it now.

Thank you Mikko for giving me pieces of advice on how to improve several things of my wallpaper.

Small edit thx to the critics: I added wavy filter to the text and I didn't think about adding it to my fishes in the bg too... they look like they are really swimming now. :) Thanks!

Oh, this is very very nice. It looks like I'm one of the fishes in an aquarium on the other side of the hall. Great blur effects to show distance and focus! I'm sure it did take a ton of effort to put all the pisces together (pun intended). I like this a lot, Ashe.

This is wonderful work, great job ^_^ *fav*

The 2 fishes in the foreground don't fit in the overall colour-theme (pastel colours), but besides of this, everything looks fine to me.

What we got here is a piece of art that's unique (spell?) here on MT. The perspective and theme is something at least I haven't seen before. That's why this one gets a +fav from me.

But I think the two fishes closest to you should be less blurry. But then I must add that I'm no expert in underwater photography so that might be how it should be. It could also be cool if you added a wave filter to the title and placed it in the water. :)

EDIT: Now that I think of it (stupid me) the focus lies on the girl. So of course the foreground must be blurred. Gome 'bout that. >_<

Beautiful !.. although at first sight, I thought the girl was with the fishes, in the water.. :)
( maybe an idea for someone, lol..)
Looking at it full scale is really cool... and I do agree with niXan for the 'swimming text'..

I don't see this as a problem. I would expect fish in the same tank as the camera to appear in more vivid colors, because there's no reflected light coming between us and them.

Indeed the only criticism of this wall I can think of (which is likely to drive Ashe's avatar up a tree) is that the hallway appears very plain. Where's the scuff marks or pamphlet holders? Though I wouldn't be surprised that a hallway in a public aquarium would be kept very clean, this is the only area of the wall that appears artificial to me. But there are differences in the glare on the floor, so maybe Ashe has already anticipated this.

Anyhow, I agree that Ashe has created an exceptional & original wall here. The character faces away from us towards the underwater scene. She appears pretty but in a plain dress, so we're inclined to enjoy the view with her. But while we may associate ourselves with the young woman, as viewers, we also associate her with the fish, as objects of beauty. The fish in the foreground, placing her inside the scene, confirms this romantic tandem: we appreciate her as much for the pleasures we share in common as for the pleasure she presents to us.

I haven't yet seen the anime yet so I don't know how consistent this wall's theme is with the original story, but I'm impressed with this wall for demonstrating how many other walls are deficient, by using their characters only to celebrate how cute, handsome or arousing they appear. We can also identify with the girl - imagine!

    Mucho sugoi arigato, Ashe-san!

Well, I'm going backward looking at MT's archive and I came across your work finally. This is an incredible piece of work you did. I was startled when I first realized the perspective was behind another tank behind the character. That must have been some work for you. Great job and thanks to your creativity. To the favorite it goes. :D
