Okay I realize the curtains look like crap but I'm still trying to figure out my tablet and painting in general so please have a heart (pity works too, lol). T_T
Made for the contest at Chamber of Kings as well as to celebrate my site Daystar Design turning 6 years old very soon.
When I saw this image in my Yone Kazuki book I really wanted to wall it but I couldn't figure out how. I thought adding the curtains would be a nice way fill in the blank space on the scan as well as give me tablet practice (hah! more like torture). Finished it up with some textures and a checker-board floor I made in Illustrator and then transformed in Photoshop to make it look like the original scan (which also proved to be torture T_T).
All in all this was a painful wall and I'm glad it's done but it was good practice for me. No text on this one (even though I love text) because the guys just seemed to be telling me "don't add text". XD
Scans: guys come from my artbook (AP has a flawed version of this scan), curtains used Code Geass scans as reference: Cape and curtain + tassles

I love the floor and the curtains, I like the curtains so much
because it has that fluff look. Looks like real carpet but not so much so
that it doesn't blend and so it looks beautiful although I feel like a tiger should
be lying on it.
I would've liked something more in the back, mirror or candles...
not sure, could've given more for the atmosphere.
Other than that, awesome job <3 -

I love the simplicity of the wall! I recognized the curtains almost immediately, so clamp-ish xD. I think the lighting and perspective is good, but the tiled floor... should the tiles get a little smaller as they fade into the background? Other than that, I think the tiled floor is rather classy :D. The curtains are pretty awesome too, but the fringing looks a bit solid compaired to the curtain IMO, because there's sharp edges. But but but I love the rich red colour :D.
