Easiest part: Painting Raven
Hardest part: Concept and painting of the background, Lighting – of which there is none because I suck. T_T
Yes, there are stairs leading straight into a wall, just pretend it’s symbolism. >_>
The title is a key word from Edgar Ellen Poe’s ‘The Raven.’ XD Corny, I know. Purple curtains are mentioned in the
poem so I threw them in too. Everything apart from Raven is made from scratch. The cracks are ugly; I know, I didn’t
know how the hell to do them. And as you can clearly see I cannot paint large areas. At all. So the majority of the BG
sucks, I don’t like it either. >_>
There are at least 8 scans that I desperately want to wall RIGHT NOW and it’s driving me nuts. I have no time and better wallers always beat me to new scans! T_T

Hm, you're right the cracks don't look their very best, they're too straight I think, but that applies to the ones on the wall, those on the stairs are alright.
Other than that *-* wow, good job, I like the shading, it turned out waaay better than I could possibly do. Also I'm a sucker for purple and dark b-gs. You did very good congratz. -

try highlighting on top of the cracks really thinly with vector shapes and vectoring sharper shadows as well to get them to actually look like scratches. and really thinner outines would help you out on the sides
the painting is pretthy nice, a bit stiff at parts but still awesome >D
