I like the textures, well, I tend to be a texture abuser myself XD but it looks really good with the vectoring and
text.
I wonder though, why didn't you make Yoite's hair black? ^^"
I think you should've sticked to the manga style & vector it like that... (lol, I like weirdo eye lashes)

vector + circles + text + texture. iz all. originally didn't want to submit this anywhere. but seeing as this might be the last thing i produce for i don't know how long, even if this is not that impressive of a temporary revival from deadness... xD;;
when i first made this, it was total fail. like it always is when i try to wall my detailed vectors. this is a second attempt. :/ now it's not total fail, more like half. texture-heavy? probably. all the "after"-effects are quickly thrown together so fine-tuning will go on before this goes up on brokenTONE.
for the fun of it, here's the cropped idea sketch plus the vectors:
almost forgot: that's young yoite (the part where he says goodbye to the priest after his brother comes to fetch him because they're moving). if anybody has good critique, i'm willing to compile a list. and note to self: excessive text is NOT healthy for file size. D8

i think the birds are too gray for the bg =/ i feel like the shadows on them should be oranger
and i personally liked it when the bg was slightly darker and there was more black
but nevertheless a beautiful paper, his hair is so awesome *steals hair technique* :D
