Okay, I found the LQ scan on Livejournal, and it was only around 300px. I had a strange fixation with the image, and thus, vectored it. You will not believe how many times I restarted this. I initially was going to paint it but then I realized I hadn't got a freaking clue on how to paint clouds, and I really didn't think I could carry off two different styles at once. So after multiple restarts, I settled for normal cel-shaded style vectoring. It wasn't intensely hard, but I did have several blocks with this piece.
The clouds... I know someone's gonna talk about how I should've painted the clouds instead. But really, I think that the sharp jaggedness of the clouds is a nice contrast from the softness from the sky... so... yeah. I vectored them from this scan (http://gallery.minitokyo.net/view/229190, haha I neeeed to watch this movie, seriously). But yesss... I can sort of paint clouds NOW, but when I made the wallie I would swear my head of trying to do them.
Texture is from Aethereality, and there's a few gradient-colour-texture effects. I lovelovelove textures, I wish we could see more textured walls here~

I've always loved this wall since I saw it on your profile page so I'm glad you are finally adding it. I agree that the clouds look coll with the stark white in contrast with the sky. I think if they were painted they would be a lot less dynamic looking (and then it would look a lot more like a ton of other walls already in the gallery). The perspective on this is fun, thanks for taking the time to wall it! +Fav definately!

I don't know why but the wall gives me a warm feeling, must be the sky's fault it looks kinda shinny and calm. Anyway it looks very good as a wall. Nice use of texture as well. -
