for tofu-san!
collab with kit-chan<33

we love tofu and she doesnt get enough presents. tofu has helped me in ways you can never imagine in painting--through inspiring me to paint more precisely, to sending me this really awesome tutorial which has immensely helped me understand color. i still have a long way to go, but here's to tofu for all her help. LOL and shes awesome for other reasons ;). you know what im talking about. anyways i have no idea if you like clamp or not but HERE IT IS, hope you love it OX.

----

ahhhh kitchan is seriously the most patient person i know. lol she must have wanted to kill me while doing this collab

so this was supposed to be like a 1 day quickie, but somehow it turned out to be like a huge 5 day project >_>. partly because im in china now and we had so much trouble passing the file around (D< china). vector went fast, like 16 hours.

excuse the hair and her shirt, i was lazy after painting that skirt to make anything detailed ^_^'

omg gates.. never ever ever again. i tried to paint them but they kept turning out.. really ugly so from now on you guys get simple black gates :D

and then the bg went through a ton of different stages because me and kitchan have such different taste in art OX.

i have never seen clover, but to me she seems like such a innocent child. so first sunrise to symbolize the beginning. gah i wish i could go back to those naive happy days :D

original scan
PNG--because im being really nice

I don`t have much to say that you can`t guess out. You already know your wall is awesome. ;3
I really love the ...uhh... right side of the wall because of how the blue sky and green hill looks together. Gosh, I don`t know why it took me so long to realize that was the right side... >_>

  4. anit4e Apr 02, 2009

  6. Pulver15 Apr 02, 2009

Wow you are painting different now and I really like it cause there is something like a connnection between the colors XD
and it seems like you really like green XD
and that it isn't so full of details (many trees, clouds, mountain, etc) let it really looks soft with the little bit of light!
    GREAT JOB YOU TWO! XD

  7. Gladis Apr 02, 2009

Kick ass walls are kick ass walls. Seriously.
I adore this wall as soon as I saw it. It's so warm and calm, but there are some weird things on the background such the hill right behind the fence, it ends abruptly and doesn't blend with the rest. There's another mountain on the back that it's tranparent, I mean you can see the other mountain behind it.
Still, I love the whole thing <3

*gives the most painful high fives possible*
Oh it hurts so good! Thanks so much you two! X3

I have to say, the coloring is absolutely fantastic, very rich and the fact that blue, yellow, and green are my favorite colors ever. (speaking of which, I've only read a bit of CSS and Chobits but I looooove Clamp's art style. :3) How the hell do you paint so neatly? XD Both you have so much more patience than me when it comes to neatness. XD
And unlike certain people at AP, I love the simple background and the geometric shapiness. :3 The soft sunrise glow is really pretty. ^_^ I think your and Kitty's style have meshed perfectly in this wall. ^_^

ah, but some things to crit.
like the gate... uh...well, I figure a pic is the best way to show it.Mostly about the lack of 3Dness to it.
Left is original, right is my paintover.
    http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a369/0oDarthTofuo0/gate.jpg

The light outline on her left arm looks pretty cool, but where it's on the gate post it's kinda weird since there would be a shadow since the light won't get there? Also, there's no shadow on it either, kinda strange, no? Not much else to say.

  20. ASH-Hikari Apr 08, 2009

You call a 5 day project huge? I envy you.
So many people have been doing mountains and they're all upstaging me! XD
But this wall is truly gorgeous. The art style of the vector and the flawlessness of it...the background is so simple but in the best possible way.
My favourite part might be the colouring; the shades used in the sky and the subtle gold light on the girl. So serene.
