DESCRIPTION - July 04, 2013
Shugo Chara = Amu = Chibi = Love
Yesterday, while I was cleaning my computer of unnecessary crap, I found this inside a folder (done and ready to go). This was a project I had done way back in 2009 while Shugo Chara was still airing on TV. To be honest, I was really surprised that I still had this somewhere in this computer. I thought I had it locked inside an old external hard-drive (or somewhere else). For matter fact, I didn’t even remember I had done something like this until I saw it yesterday, lol.
The one I posted on MT years ago (2009) was pretty much a draft of what I really wanted to make in the end. Honestly, I
was planning on replacing it for this one eventually, but totally forgot after finishing it (sorry about).
This wallpaper was done purely out of my love of this series and its characters (yes, especially its characters). Before
I started working on this, I waited and hoped for someone else to make something similar. Why? Just to see if that
could’ve saved me the “hassle” of making one. But nothing happened and since I couldn’t find anything similar to
it online either, I took the task in making one (in the end, it was that or nothing).
Concept-idea:
The idea was to make something that was cute and silly, as well representative of the overall series and the characters in it. I also wanted to capture some part of the character’s personalities in it.
I’ve always liked the whole Ikuto x Amu relationship since the very beginning I started watching the series, so I decided to make my wallpaper’s theme around that idea. Amu referred to Ikuto several times as an _ally black cat_ during the series and I always found that thought kinda cute. So why not use that as my main theme, right? Lots of stuff you could do with that that could be interesting and amusing/fun.
If interested, the plan-on story of this wall goes something like this: an alley cat comes inside Amu’s room to get shelter from the cold night. Amu finds the cat under her bed sleeping. For some reason, Amu looks irritated when she sees the cat’s face. It reminded her of Ikuto. Still, she lets the freeloader-cat to spend the night (ahhh why not? That cat is kinda cute). The next day, the cat is gone (so much like Ikuto), irritating Amu even more. Such is love…
Those with knowledge of the manga and anime series might understand the whole idea behind this wallpaper a tad better (or at least I hope so).
Assets and stuff:
I looked for images (screenshots basically; love working with screenshots) to use that could depict this idea the best way possible. The images had to be as cute, fluffy and funny as possible. As far the BG, well, I was already stuck with the idea of using Amu’s room (Hmm…. My sis wants that room, btw).
Textures were used all around the image to make things to stand out more. Plus, texturing is something I’ve always liked. Everything was vectored using Ai and finished using Ps (adjustments, textures, comp. revisions, etc, etc, etc).
Stuff used (screenshots, chart). By the way, that at the very end of the chart (the little weird thing with Ikuto, Amu and Utau) was something I quickly put together for the Lol and fans of the series (I should’ve made a wall out of it now that I think about it).
End notes:
I know tons of people like having lots space for icons in their wallpapers, but since I don’t really have that many icons on my desktop I really don’t care (sorry about that, especially to all of you tons-of-icons-loving-guys out there). Well, you see, when I wall, I wall thinking in what I would like for myself (be it icon-friendly or not) and not in what others would like (unless I’m doing it for someone else). It’s just the way it is, that’s all.
