I'm really sick of this wallpaper. I usually don't spend a lot of time composing wallpapers; it's usually a trace and a quickie background. Here I had to extract the character and rediscovered WHY I vector trace so much - I absolutely HATE character extraction. Then it took two days off and on to get the background clouds moody and another two to get the actual coliseum columns to look decent. Regardless, I'm fairly happy with the results. When I saw Gladiator with my roommate again over the past weekend, I looked at the DVD cover and wanted to emulate it using Kino characters. This one features Shizu (and his dog Riku), although I couldn't find a decent picture of him facing the viewer (as in the Gladiator DVD cover) so I ended up using a scan of the NA 2nd DVD. I'd like to make a Kino version, simply replacing Shizu with Kino. At least I know of at least 2 good pictures of her that I can use... One final note - everything was made in Photoshop, except the scan, of course.

Don't get me wrong, I like the final result as I mentioned in the description. I just got really sick of working on it for so long.
